General Counsels' Association of India
The General Counsels’ Association of India (GCAI) is an independent body led by in-house legal professionals. Established with a vision to strengthen the professional identity of General Counsels, GCAI works to institutionalise this role as a specialised and recognised stream of legal practice in India.
Our Goals
Recognition
Seek recognition of the GC and in-house legal profession as a distinct and specialised profession at par with other legal practitioners in India.
1
Accreditation
Develop a system of accreditation based on years of experience, enabling GCs to appear before any legal forum in India.
2
Advocacy
Represent the collective voice of India’s in-house legal community by engaging with government bodies on policy and legislative initiatives.
3
Training and Development
Build future-ready legal talent through structured internships, mentorship, skilling, and professional development programmes.
4
Ethical Standards
Advance the highest ethical standards governing the practice of law in an organisational setting.
5
